via Kowen Forest and Kings Highway to
BUNGENDORE 45km
The first 65 kms is fast open forest and shire roads, then via Hoskinstown•Rossi•Jerangle to Numeralla
variable forest and shire roads.
NUMERALLA 171km
then via Countegany Rd and Tuross Rd to Nimmitabel
Sealed for 11k then opening on to formed shire road.
Peak View Rd sweeps down towards Numeralla

Early morning on Old Bega Rd on the way up to the Snowy Highway.

then via Old Bega Rd•Packers Swamp Rd•Cattlemans Track•Postmans Track to Cathcart
Fast rolling hard packed undulating forest and shire roads. Steep descents and pinch climbs through Tantawangalo State Forest

Fast rolling hard packed undulating forest and shire roads and then bitumen into Bombala.

Rolling Monaro pasture land past Bombala towards Delegate

then via Browns Camp Rd•Hobbs Rd•Dellicknora Rd•McKillops Rd•Tubbut then over to the Snowy River to join the Barry Way.
Fast hard packed shire and forest roads then difficult FT sections of unrideable ascents and descents across the Victorian Alpine Park followed by an 11km climb up the Barry Way before a rolling 25km bitumen descent into Jindabyne.

Provisional route and general description. Distances are approximate. Road conditions, river and creek crossings will be weather dependent. In 2019 the course will run anti-clockwise with the first re-supply option in Tumut NSW. The ride distances on the notes below relate to the clockwise course direction.....

from JINDABYNE 540km
then via Island Bend FT•Eucumbene Cove•Happy Jacks Rd•Tabletop Mntn FT•via Mt Selwyn to Cabramurra.
A steady climb up well maintained Snowy Hydro powerline access roads then via Eucumbene Cove on to Happy Jacks Rd provide variable speed transit along formed service roads and two track trails before opening out to fast structured service road into Cabramurra.
Exit across the Snowy River and immediately on to Barry Way where you have a 25km recovery ride before commencing the 11km climb up Barry Way to exit the KNP and on to Jindabyne


Island Bend Powerline Service Rd
from CABRAMURRA 675km
via Snowridge Rd•Tooma Rd•Manjar Rd•Black Jack Trail and forest roads to Batlow
A pavement exit out of Cabramurra over the Tumut Pond Dam then along Tooma Road before more little used national park service roads then opening out into fast well maintained forest roads into Batlow.

Barry Way wends its way up to the Wallace Craigie Lookout. Looking south to the Victorian border



Fire Trail climb over the Vic Alpine Wilderness Park on the way over to the Snowy River

Some tough rubble road base along Manjar Rd and stunning views [below] to the West when Manjar Rd meets Black Jack Trail.
BATLOW 770km
Winding out amongst Batlow’s apple orchards the trail climbs up to Snubba Rd and over to Tumut via Blowering Dam trails
TUMUT 810km
heading east via Lacmalac•Argalong Rd•Notingham Rd and down the Wee Jasper Valley to the village.
Fast rolling rural shire roads into the forest plantation roads that criss cross the eastern region of Tumut. These lead to a long power descent into Wee Jasper as the final hours of the Monaro Cloudride draw close.
WEE JASPER 885km
then via Doctors Flat Rd•Mtn Creek Rd•Fairlight Rd•Uriarra Rd
It’s all straightforward from here, rolling shire roads ….. each climb will seem like the final one, but then followed by another ……
CANBERRA
A final roll in from the ACT/NSW border down to Uriarra Crossing will have you back in BRADDON to log your finishing time and celebrate the completion of an epic ride.
