Wanna, gonna ...?

Happy Australia Day Cloudriders,

January 26. Just two months out from the start of the 2016 Monaro Cloudride/Cumulus. What a day to benchmark, harden up and commit to doing a unique Australian adventure something that’s outside the realm of the ordinary, something extraordinary! You can pack some decent kilometers in over the next two months and do this thing.

Reflecting on the long list of email enquiries I’ve fielded over the past two years …. where are you all?

To paraphrase in the Australian vernacular there’s a lot of ‘wannas’ and ‘gonnas’ but not too much evidence of converting the dreamtime to realtime. Livin’ the dream is getting out there and doing it.

Cloudride winners 2014 Ollie Whaley [Kiwi] and 2015 Calvin Decker [USA pictured] both stepped up to the plate with little or no experience of the Australian SE terrain and showed how it can be done. Australia Day got me thinking about those cliches ‘Aussie fighting spirit’ ‘never say die’ ‘no guts no glory’ ……. hello…., where are you mountain bikers?

As little Lleyt [recently retired Lleyton Hewitt now OA] was fond of saying …… C’mon!
